I reckon blushers are one of the most underrated cosmetic products. Usually I’m all ‘less is more,’ but I find blusher so transformational that I often use at least 2 shades followed by highlighter and bronzer. To avoid patchiness stick to either using powders or creams – my default is always cream.
1. STILA CONVERTIBLE COLOR
These are the easiest cream blushers to use and the bright punchy colours are so sheer that they leave a fresh youthful glow.
2. CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEACH STICK IN IBIZA
This cream bronzer enlivens most skin tones, especially with Moon Beach, a rose gold blush, on the apple of the cheeks.
3. LIZ EARLE HEALTHY GLOW CREAM BLUSH
These blushes have good staying powder – I love Nectar, which suits all but the darkest skin tones.
4. DANIEL SANDLER WATERCOLOUR LIQUID BLUSH
This translucent natural blush is more like a stain which means you can layer it and it has great staying power. I often use it on brides: using a brush apply Angel all over the cheek then Cherub on the apple of the cheek.
5. BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTER
A subtle gleam to highlight the top of cheekbones.
6. NARS BLUSH
NARS do wonderful blushers. The most popular shade, Orgasm (120 are sold every hour), is a perfect balance between pink and coral with gold flecks so it looks great on dark and light skin tones.
7. BOBBI BROWN BRONZING POWDER
It’s totally matt so great for a natural and subtle warming of the skin. I always use this on the centre of the neck as well as the face.
8. CHARLOTTE TILBURY FILMSTAR BRONZE AND GLOW
This is good for subtle contouring. Use the brown shade for under the cheekbone and the highlighter for the top.
