Today I’m concentrating on SKIN. This is a lazy girls list. I am a lazy girl when it comes to skincare. I’m not willing to drink buckets of water, cut down on my obligatory 2 glasses of wine a day, or do face masks to get decent skin. I want cheap, quick and effective – but it’s true what they say – ‘makeup only looks as good as the skin it’s on’.
1. LA ROCHE-POSAY TOLERIANE DERMO-CLEANSER
This makeup removal fluid is great for those with very dry skin as you don’t need water to remove it. Instead remove it with Micelle solution……
2. BIODERMA SENSIBIO MICELLE SOLUTION
Every makeup artist has this in their kit as it removes makeup quickly, including mascara, with just a cotton pad and yet is gentle enough to use on really sensitive skins.
3. JAMES READ SLEEP MASK
A subtle gradual tan for the face with extra moisturisers.
4. PIXI GLOW TONIC
Liquid exfoliants are lotions that remove the top layer of dull skin leaving it smoother and brighter. They are brilliant, I love them and everyone should use one! If you have dry dehydrated skin then foundation can highlight rough dry areas as the foundation just sits on top of the skin. But on smooth skin foundation will glide on, sink in and look more ‘real’. They contain AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) or the less harsh BHA’s (Beta Hydroxy Acids) which result in skin being more sensitive to the sun so you should use SPF all year round. This one says use AM and PM daily but as its 5% AHA and my skin burns within minutes of being in the sun I only use it 2 or 3 times a week in the evening.
5. PAULA’S CHOICE SKIN PERFECTING 1% BHA LOTION
As above, but for very sensitive skins that may be prone to rosacea, acne or that burn easily. Doesn’t smell great but I’d advice you to just get over it!
6. OLAY TOTAL EFFECTS 7in1 FRAGRANCE FREE MOISTURISER
7. ST TROPEZ BRONZING MOUSSE
I’ve tried them all and this has the best colour (not at all orange) and doesn’t streak.
